The Begging Bowl is a metaphor for acceptance and receptivity. Do we go through Life alone? Is there an unseen partner or energy? No matter how you answer this question, we are a part of Life.  The Begging Bowl is a mirror of ourselves and our openness to Life.

As of 2020, I have painted 87 Begging Bowl paintings. Three of these pieces I made-up… I manufactured a painting from the concept. They were terrible. The other 84 Begging Bowl paintings were inspired.  They came to me in the quiet of dreams, meditations or the reverie of staring into the unknown.
